What we collect

When you place an order we collect your name, shipping address, and email address so we can charge, ship, and send you a receipt. We don't collect anything else, and we never sell or rent your information.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection; it never touches our servers and we never see it. Sales tax is calculated by Stripe based on your shipping address.

Who we share with

The services needed to get coffee to your door: Stripe (payment and tax), our shipping-rate provider (your address, to price delivery), and our fulfillment partner (your name and address, to pack and ship the order). Each receives only what it needs. Separately, our advertising and analytics providers receive the information described under Advertising below.

Cookies, storage & analytics

We use your browser's local storage to remember your cart and any promo code you arrived with. We use Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, clicks, and anonymized session replays) so we can improve it. Payment card details are never visible to any of them.

Advertising

We advertise on Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), mostly to reach people who have bought Java Time in a store for years and don't know they can now buy it direct. To know which ads actually lead to orders, those platforms place cookies on this site and we tell them when an order is completed. What we send is the order value, a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your email address, name and shipping city, state and ZIP, and, unscrambled, the IP address and browser user agent your order was placed from. The hashed details cannot be read back by us or by them; the IP address and user agent are sent as-is because the platforms use them to recognise the order as yours. They can use all of this to show you Java Time ads elsewhere.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Under California law, sharing data with ad platforms this way still counts as “sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising,” and you have the right to opt out. You can turn it off for this browser at any time on our Your privacy choices page. Opting out does not change the price you pay or your ability to order.
